County Court Action Against Web Designer & SEO

By Steve Turner of Little Legs & Tiny Tots

Having being discharged from UK Armed Forces(Army) with over 70% disbalilties my family were left no other option than to look after me, my wife left her well paid job to be my main carer as I attempted suicide on several occasions due to my pain and Post Traumatic Stress disorder. This However is another story.

As a result of this my wife and daughter with a little help from myself began the process of opening a mother and baby shop here in the UK, however the shop lease was constantly delayed as a result of the other parties solicitor dissapearing overnight to never reappear again.

This of course had many repurcusions and we were left no other option than to not sign the contract when it did eventually turn up as the recession had hit the Uk.

We were left with our solicitors bill of £1,500 as a result of this other solictors dissapearing, the story however, does not stop there.

Undettered we then began the process of opening a web site only baby shop, having employed the services of what we believed was a professional SEO and Web Design company.

We were constantly locked out of our site, the work was sub standard, littered with faults or errors together with a whole host of other issues.

Despite our best efforts to have the faults rectified the company director was a bully and even caused my daugher to cry by his abuse towards her.

As a result we employed another company to rectify the faults and have issued county courts proceedings to recover our losses and expenses.

Recently after receiving a letter from the other sides solicitors which basically attempted to ridicule and dismiss our claims and then ended up by offering £500 to close the matter as they did not want travel to our local court.

The solicitors were promptly e mailed and informed to place there offer and comments where the sun does not shine as I want our day in court to face this bully.

I am representing us and have used an extremely good county court law guidance book to help me, even over turning a transfer of hearing to their court.

My advice first of all is to ensure any SEO or Web Designer is checked out very carefully and also not to be bullied by these solicitors or companies who feel as if they are above the law.

Stand your ground and know your rights there is much free information available on the web.

Kudos! Make sure you keep records of all the expenses incurred pursuing your case; this cost is business related, your reward is reduced tax burden.
